Agent infrastructure is becoming a platform category

Cloudflare's Agents launch highlights the infrastructure behind useful AI: model access, runtime, orchestration, storage, sandboxes and observability.

AI agents are applications, and serious applications need infrastructure. Cloudflare's Agents announcement puts observability around agent sessions while drawing together model access, durable runtimes, orchestration, sandboxed execution and persistent storage.

The significant point is architectural. A production AI feature is rarely just a model call. It may need identity, rate limits, queues, databases, object storage, logs, retries, security controls and a reliable way to operate over time.

This is directly relevant to business websites. The same managed infrastructure used to deliver a fast secure website can become the foundation for support assistants, content workflows, internal research tools and other carefully controlled agentic systems.

GRID EATER takeaway

Treat AI as part of the application architecture. Reliability, security and observability matter as much as the model choice.
